Abraham Watson House

The Abraham Watson House is not only a good example of 18th century architecture, built in 1751, but it is also an example of Cambridge’s role in the American Revolution.

Abraham Watson was active in Cambridge politics throughout The Revolution.  Watson was a farmer and was a member of Cambridge’s Committee of Correspondence, the group that facilitated towns of Massachusetts communicating with each other.

Watson was also a delegate to the Provincial Congress, which met in Cambridge in 1774.  He and his house is a reminder of Cambridge’s role in The American Revolution
