Exhibit Philosophy

The Cambridge Historical Society has working to creatively use the spaces in our 17th century building. We have moved away from the idea of period room displays and have opted for a two pronged approach. On the one hand, we offer an extensive history of the development of the building and details on the physical development of each room. On the other hand, we use the spaces in each room for exhibits that explore the different aspects of the history of Cambridge. Our exhibits are designed to be flexible and changeable, so we will be hosting temporary exhibits and changing the permanent display on an annual basis. We hope you enjoy our virtual tours and will take the time to stop by to see our house.
