I shudder to think what will happen to our shutters!

Sad shutter

What happened to the shutters?

The 200 year old shutters on the Hooper-Lee-Nichols House were in a dangerous state of disrepair. The facilities team of the Cambridge Historical Society felt that exposure to the harsh climate of a New England winter could do irrevocable damage to these historic features of our house. So, on December 16, 2009 Charlie Allen coordinated the removal of our shutters. Workers from both Charlie Allen Restorations and S+H Construction helped with the project. The shutters have been stored at the Historical Society and we hope to be able to repair them over the winter.

This will cost close to $15,000, please consider making a donation to help preserve our historic shutters.
