About the Role

History Cambridge seeks a creative, organized, and passionate fundraiser to help develop and execute a fundraising strategy that is aligned with our mission, goals, and values. This individual would be part of a small team working closely together to increase engagement and visibility in our community.

Job Responsibilities

  • Donor cultivation and stewardship, including research
  • Identifying, cultivating, and stewarding major gift prospects
  • Management of fundraising appeal strategies throughout the year
  • Planning and executing small fundraising events
  • Gift processing, data entry, and ongoing database management using donor management software (we use Little Green Light)
  • Other projects that may arise

Skills:

  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in development
  • A track record of fundraising success
  • Proven ability to work within dynamic teams and build strong relationships with colleagues 
  • Demonstrated commitment to evolving fundraising practices through a lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Proven ability to interact and work effectively with Board members, donors, and funding agencies
  • Comfortable engaging with donors virtually and in person
  • Creative thinking and a spirit of experimentation with a flexible mindset
  • Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, handle multiple tasks, and manage demanding situations effectively, while showing initiative and being anticipatory rather than reactive
  • Effective time management and work organization skills, with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent computer and technology skills, including facility with Internet navigation, social media channels, databases, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Passion for our community-oriented history work

Compensation Structure

This position is grant-funded for 12 months.

Part-time/20-hours a week

$38/hour

This position involves on- and off-site work.
